Welcome to the first PavZ devblog. The plan is one of these a month: what shipped, what's being built, what broke and got fixed, and the raw numbers behind a month of survival in the zone.

Taking Shelter

TODO — what shelters do from the player's side, what persists between sessions, and where they can be found. Keep it concrete: what a player does differently now that this exists.

TODO: replace with a real shelter screenshot.

Pre Season Is Live

The first season in PavZ history is underway. Every kill, crate and air drop counts toward a leaderboard that resets when the season does.

TODO — how long Pre Season runs, what carries over, what the reset means for stats already earned.

Leaderboards cover Desert and Valley only. The test and example maps carry development playtesting, and counting them would put a tester with a spawn command at the top of every category.

Automatic VIP for Leaderboard Leaders

Whoever currently sits at #1 in a leaderboard category now holds VIP for as long as they hold the spot — granted and revoked automatically, checked every few minutes. It runs separately from Supporter VIP, so neither can revoke the other.

TODO — list the categories this applies to and what VIP actually gets you.

Keeping the Servers Up

TODO — a short, honest paragraph on the reliability work: scheduled restarts that check for live players before they fire, the autoscaler bringing servers up under load, and the outage that prompted better detection.

Players notice uptime more than they notice features, and this month a good chunk of the work went there rather than into anything you can see.
